Description:

The program displays next day weather forecast for major world cities (1400 total). Program allows to select target city of forecast and choose picture style. Received data is stored in phone memory, up to 10 different forecast points. Running in economic mode, program shows up saved image until it is not expired. Otherwise image is downloaded from server automatically. Source of data belongs to organization Russian Meteo Service and is based on hydrodynamical models of global atmospheric circulation of the leading world meteorological centers that provides accuracy of the received forecasts at a level of the world standards. The data on a server is updated each three-six hours.

Implementation Comments:

The program uses Internet protocol HTTP to download thumbnail size picture containing weather forecast and shows it on the screen. The program runs only on compatible Java™ enabled mobile device. Software was built within NetBeans™ IDE.

To enhance previous version this one adds independent storage of 10 forecast locations and shows improved performance.
